District 2903 Staff, Parents, and Students,

The Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) would like all parents, families, students, educators, and all members of the public to complete a survey on flexible use funding provided by the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act. This act was enacted into law on March 11, 2021, and includes $1.3 billion for E-12 education in Minnesota to help schools returning to, and maintaining, safe in-person learning for all students.

Per federal law, 90% of these funds have been allocated to eligible districts and charter schools. 9.5% of these funds are for flexible use by each state education agency to create a plan to meet the needs of students. As a result, we are asking for feedback and input on how the 9.5% could be used.

Complete this short survey before 4 p.m. on Monday, June 21 at this link https://survey.alchemer.com/s3/6349159/Public-Comment-on-American-Rescue-Plan-Funding

Required District 2903 “Safe Return to In-Person Learning” Plan

Additionally, as a condition of accepting the ESSER III award (federal dollars), District 2903 must develop, with community input, a Safe Return to In-Person Learning Plan and post it for public comment within 30 days of receiving the ESSER III award (June 21, 2021). The Safe Return to In-Person Learning Plan must be reviewed regularly, at least every six months, and District 2903 must seek additional public comment on revisions. A meeting to update our current Safe Return to In-Person Learning was held this past Wednesday, June 9 at 4:00 PM  in the Media Center.   See the above link to review.   Please email or call School Superintendent Larson should you have any suggested changes to this PLAN and/or suggestions for how to spend these federal ESSER III dollars over the course of the next three years.  A link to the District 2903 spreadsheet for spending down the ESSER III dollars can be found within the Safe Return to In-Person Learning Plan or by clicking here.
