7th Grade U.S. Studies:
This course looks at the entirety of our country's history, starting before there were any Europeans present on the continent. We will work with several primary sources such as the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution. Th class provides a good overview for the students before they take more in-depth U.S. history classes in ninth and tenth grade.

8th Grade Global Studies:
In this course, we begin by learning some basic geography skills before exploring the entire global, learning about the cultures, landscapes, and environments of all seven continents. Students will work heavily with maps, and will work on a semester-long notecard project to familiarize themselves with the 50 states of the United States.

9th Grade Civics (First semester):
The framework for this course is based on the Minnesota Civics Test, which is taken by all Minnesota ninth graders. We research all three branches of government at both the state and federal levels. This class is also heavily dictated by current events in an effort to keep students informed about the world around them.

9th Grade American History (Second semester):
This history course expands on the foundation layed in seventh grade and brings us up to the American Civil War (about 1865).
